What we look at
- Hail and wind causation: whether the damage on the roof is consistent with hail or wind, and which roof sections it affects
- Dating damage: evidence of whether damage is recent or older, such as weathering of fractures and exposed surfaces
- Storm damage vs. wear and installation defects: separating storm damage from age, deterioration, maintenance issues, prior repairs and workmanship problems
- Failure analysis: why a roof system, seam, flashing or attachment failed
- Testing: core cuts to confirm roof assembly, layers and wet materials, and infrared moisture surveys across large roof areas
- Documented reports: photos, roof plans, test locations and findings written out for claims, appraisal and disputes
Roof consulting, not engineering
This is roof consulting based on field experience installing, inspecting and evaluating roof systems. We do not provide engineering services or sealed engineering opinions. If a matter needs a licensed professional engineer, we will say so.
